Why Them?

"Why Them?" is a zine made with the intent to reflect on - and largely criticize - depictions of marginalized groups in video games. This zine was made solely by me, Brick, and the outside visuals I edited for each article is credited.

This zine speaks about Ableism in the horror game genre regarding physical disability, Exotification of South East Asian culture that takes form in the "Sexy Belly Dancer" outfit, The Black Revolutionary trope - how it's been done well as well as horribly, Cissexism in character design that can more broadly be applied to any media, and Colorism in game design.
